The brand COURRÈGES
Courrèges, the French fashion house, has been undergoing a remarkable revival since 2021 under the leadership of Belgian designer Nicolas Di Felice. A graduate of the renowned La Cambre art school, Di Felice previously worked with fashion giants such as Balenciaga, Dior, and Louis Vuitton. His admiration for the simplicity and optimism of Courrèges, founded by André and Coqueline in the 1960s, motivated him to revive the brand. The first collection under his direction impresses with a clear, fresh, bold, and seductive vision, incorporating vinyl as a hallmark in boots, jackets, and accessories. Originally established by André and Coqueline Courrèges, Courrèges revolutionized the fashion world in the 1960s with innovative concepts like "Couture Future." The brand contributed to women's liberation, symbolized by iconic pieces like the miniskirt. The iconic Courrèges style, characterized by trapeze shapes and unconventional materials like PVC and vinyl, endures under current artistic director Nicolas Di Felice. He integrates the brand's DNA into his avant-garde universe inspired by nocturnal realms. Di Felice prioritizes sustainability, utilizing eco-friendly materials such as 70% plant-based vinyl to create timeless garments. Under Nicolas Di Felice's leadership, Courrèges experiences a revival, preserving traditional values while simultaneously interpreting them in a contemporary light.
